Hi, I'm Omar Defaoui — the human behind NORDEF.

I'm a Full Stack Developer with 5+ years of experience building mobile and web products for startups and established teams. I founded NORDEF as my independent studio for shipping fast, AI-powered apps end to end — from idea to a production-ready release on the App Store, Play Store, or the web.

My background

I started writing code as a teenager and never really stopped. Over the years I've shipped Android and iOS apps with Flutter and React Native, complex web dashboards with React and Next.js, and reliable backends with NestJS and Node.js. The common thread is a focus on real product outcomes — not framework tribalism.

I've worked with founders, agencies and in-house teams across MENA and Europe. The projects vary, but the value I bring is consistent: a single, senior developer who can take a fuzzy idea and turn it into a working app fast, without leaving a mess for the next person to maintain.

How I work

I write code with the help of modern AI tools — Lovable, Cursor, Copilot and frontier LLMs — but I never let the AI drive unsupervised. Every diff is read and reviewed. The combination of senior judgment and AI leverage is what makes NORDEF projects ship in weeks instead of months.

I value clean architecture, honest estimates, and short feedback loops. I would rather ship a small thing this week and iterate than disappear for two months and surface with a flawed v1.
